Avoch is situated on the northern shore of the Moray Firth, on the Black Isle. Access from the south is from the A9, crossing the Kessock Bridge from Inverness, and taking the Munlochy turn-off from the A9. Avoch is on the road leading from Munlochy towards Fortrose, Rosemarkie and Cromarty.w-scotland

Avoch is a compact village, spread along the coast, and centred around what was once its busy fishing harbour - now used more for leisure craft and tours,

The picture shows a view of Avoch from the air, and looking beyond Avoch to the North-western area of the Black Isle. The harbour is clearly visible in the fore-ground, and to the left of it, the small fishing cottages which once reflected the main industry of the area.
